Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) today released the new Xpander crossover MPV with updated design and enhanced environmental protection. The updated model will be exhibited at the 28th GAIKINDO Indonesia International Motor Show on November 11. At the front, the Dynamic Shield front face that expresses strength and security has been improved, and new horizontal bumpers and three-dimensional anti-skid plates that give the impression of a low center of gravity are newly adopted. The T-shaped headlight adopts a new generation of headlight unit shape. For a higher level of decoration, the LED type is used to ensure a good front view.

The rear design adopts a new generation of lightweight and horizontal style rear bumper to create a wide and stable appearance. As for the rear combination lamp, a uniformly illuminated T-shaped tail lamp is newly adopted, and an LED brake lamp is added to the LED tail lamp and backlight to improve night visibility.

In terms of high-end interiors, 17-inch wheels and tires are newly equipped, and the round frame alloy wheels adopt a solid and gradual machining two-color design. The front overhang has been extended by 75 mm, and the rear overhang has been extended by 45 mm to create a high-end scale. In addition, compared with the current model, the vehicle height has increased by 15 to 20 mm, ensuring a high ground clearance of 220 to 225 mm3-the top level among products in the same class-while also improving off-road performance.

As a new body color, Blade Silver Metallic has been added with a powerful impression of realistic metallic feel. Other available colors include quartz white pearl, graphite gray metallic, black biotite, red metallic, and dark bronze metallic.

For a higher level of decoration, the interior adopts a horizontally carved instrument panel to provide a spacious feel. The redesigned steering wheel gives a sporty and powerful appearance, while the size and shape of the handle have also been redesigned to ensure that the driver can grasp easily and confidently. In addition, the armrests and door trims are upholstered in synthetic leather with real stitching to enhance the quality of the interior space. Other new features include an air-conditioning panel with an LCD display, which allows easy checking of fan level and temperature settings at a glance, and a high-contrast instrument display with a new graphic design.

The gearbox newly adopts a high-efficiency CVT. When the accelerator is pressed deeply, it will deliver a strong and sharp acceleration, and increase the feeling of shifting, allowing the driver to feel the acceleration. When the accelerator is slightly depressed, the unique smooth shift of the CVT maximizes engine performance while achieving high fuel efficiency and quietness. The engine newly adopts an external EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) system to achieve low fuel consumption without affecting engine output performance.

The electric parking brake 4 is newly added, which can reliably stop by simply operating the switch. In addition, the new brake automatic hold function enables the vehicle to continue to stay stopped even when the driver takes off the brake pedal while waiting for traffic lights or traffic jams, thereby reducing the burden on the driver and improving comfort.

In terms of suspension, the rigidity of the front strut mounting part has been improved, the cylinder size of the rear shock absorber has been enlarged, and high-performance valves have been newly adopted in the front and rear to provide a smooth and comfortable ride.

In order to obtain a more comfortable internal space, the convenient storage space is further enhanced, making it more convenient to use. The center console has been redesigned with a large-capacity open tray for easy placement of smartphones, and a new armrest 4 that can store 4 600ml plastic bottles is added for easy use.

In order to enhance the comfort of the rear seats, the models equipped with armrests are equipped with Type-A and Type-C USB charging ports on the back of the center console, and a cup holder is added to the armrests of the second row of seats.
